Support The HUGG Collective

90% of the work we do here in the US on behalf of our friends in Haiti is done by volunteers. Your gift is a tremendous benefit to these young men aging out of orphan care in Haiti. Together we can break the cycle of orphanhood in their communities.

We do this through a collective of people like you coming together and helping build our FIVE PILLARS:

WHY DO WE EQUIP THE BOYS?

We have made so much progress when it comes to protecting young girls from sex trafficking, empowering single moms and bringing reformation, even if modest, to work conditions for women in developing countries. Yet, you don’t hear about people investing in the lives of the young men. If we are empowering women shouldn’t we be equipping the young men?

EQUIPPING YOUNG MEN ELIMINATES THE THREAT

Young orphaned men are the potential orphan makers, oppressors and abusers of women and children so if we are going to achieve meaningful and long-lasting change--it’s time to invest in the life of one young man who may be destined to perpetuate the cycle of orphanhood, poverty and violence in his community.

HOW DO WE DO THIS?

We believe that mentorship is a highly valuable and often overlooked resource in countries like Haiti. Mission trips and one time donations can accomplish a lot, but what if we were purposeful in partnering with leaders of local churches to invest in the life of an orphaned young man?

What does an orphaned Haitian teen need? He needs a safe home, a Christian man to pour into him. He needs someone walking alongside him and teaching him to make decisions and encouraging him that HE CAN DO THIS.  Mentorship, along with schooling, discipleship, trade school and other resources gives each man NOT just a fighting chance, but an opportunity to become what Haitian communities desperately need: Strong men, working men, pastors, husbands and fathers.

GRANGOU

That’s why we have partnered with Grangou, a boy’s home in Haiti who is fiercely committed to walking long-term with their boys--even after they’ve aged out of their care.

We’ve learned that most aging out youth are simply not prepared to enter life in Haiti with the skills, maturity and spiritual discipline to face their country.

We invite you to hear the stories of the young men of HUGG.

Hear His story, because He is Under God's Grace...

WHO IS THE HUGG COLLECTIVE.

If it take s a village to raise a child, it takes a COLLECTIVE of people around the world to raise a young man in orphan care. All of us have a stake in this mission to break the cycle of orphanhood. We want you to claim that space and help bring orphanhood to an end in Haiti.

It's normal people like you and me. We are moms, dads, teachers, pastors, churches and retailers collectively rooting for the success of these young men - even against all odds.
